There are grand places like Dubai and Jordan, known for their deserts and then there is Rajasthan. The land of the great Rajputs has fascinated the minds of travelers and tourists alike. And it was no different for Anuj and his wife. Anuj had always wanted to take her to the land of the Royals. So when they finally got a break from work, they decided to visit this state which was in the list since a long time. Read on to know about their epic trip.

Trip Type: Romantic Trip
Cost: INR 23,450
Distance from Delhi: 268 Kms
Inclusions: Trains, accommodation, breakfast, sightseeing, Tour to Chokhi Dhani
Best time to visit Rajasthan: December- March
Agent: Tourepedia

Our location was decided since a long time. So without wasting any time, my wife and I began looking for good Rajasthan tour package which was worth the money and which would cater to all our requirements. My friends had earlier booked a package through TravelTriangle and were quite satisfied with it. So when we got a good quote, we went ahead and booked the package without any second thoughts.

Here are some of the best attractions to explore while in Rajasthan for a honeymoon. This will make you plan your trip to Rajasthan better and conveniently

View of fort in Jaipur

We reached Jaipur by train and upon arrival, were transferred to our hotel. After reaching there, we rested for sometime and started off for our sightseeing tour. The first stop was the grand Amer fort, known for its splendour and heroic past. The fort was beautiful and took us back in time when the Rajputs were trying to defend their homes from the Mughals. Stepping into Diwan-e-khas and the Diwan-e-aam makes one feel part of the history that our ancestors are so proud of.

Couple in Jaipur temples

We clicked lots of pictures there and then proceeded to see the Jal Mahal. One should not miss the view of the setting sun here. It’s on the way to the Jaigarh and Nahargarh forts. We covered the Nahargarh fort, also known popularly as the tiger fort, the fort was originally named Sudarshan Garh. The fort has become more popular after some scenes of movie ‘Rang De Basanti’ were shot here. It provides a lovely panoramic view of the city and we spent sometime there, just gazing at the city lights below.

Post that, we came back to our hotel and called it a night.

Best places for shopping in Jaipur
Do not miss the shops around Hathi pole, Johri Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar

Rajasthan Honeymoon Packages on TravelTriangle

Explore Rajasthan, the land of Maharajas. Experience its royal cultural heritage, luxurious hotels, camel safaris, pristine lakes, and magnificent forts and palaces. Cover the best of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Pushkar and Ranthambhore at best prices with TravelTriangle.

Tourists near Jaipur

Our second day in Jaipur started with a visit to Jaigarh fort which is one of the manadatory places to visit in Rajasthan in 4 days. It is situated in Cheel ka Tila, overlooking the pink city. The fort is quite similar to Amer Fort in structure and design and was named after the founder of Jaipur, Raja Jai Singh. One can take a good walk around the fort and spend a few hours there. This was followed by a visit to the Hawa Mahal, ‘the palace of the breeze’. The structure is beautiful and one can see the whole city from the balconies.

Couple in chokhi dhani

Now it was time for a visit to Chokhi Dhani. I must say that this was the best part of our stay in Jaipur. The locales give you an amazing welcome with shikanji and butter milk and the kalbeliya dance. The food is authentic rajasthani and very delicious. One can even enjoy the camel rides, bullock cart rides, fire dance and puppet shows here.

Later, we returned to our hotel and called it a night as we were quite tired from our sightseeing.

Hotel review: The Ashapurna Hotel

Our Rating: 4/5
The rooms are spacious and the breakfast was quite good. In our budget, this hotel was totally worth it. The staff is also quite helpful and friendly.

Wandering in Udaipur

It was time to visit the lake city, and possibly the most beautiful city of Rajasthan- Udaipur. It is one of the most beautiful cities I have seen. We wanted to start sightseeing as soon as possible so we quickly went to our hotel and freshened up.

tourist in Udaipur

We started our sightseeing tour, with a visit to the city palace and boat ride at Lake Pichola. The unique thing about the city palace is that it is a confluence of British and Rajput architecture. It overlooks the Taj lake palace situated in the island at the centre of lake pichola. I can only imagine how beautiful the whole scene must look in a foggy winter morning and the monsoons.

Tourists in Udaipur

This extravagant visit was followed by a visit to Bagore ki haveli. This gracious 18th century Haveli is an architectural splendor. Set in the edge of the most important ghats of Udaipur, the Gangaur ghat, this Haveli has since been carefully restored and has 138 rooms set around beautiful courtyards. One can enjoy evening dance performances and puppet shows, while here. After that, we roamed around the market area and went to our hotel for early dinner and sleep.

Hotel review: Narayans Leela Inn
Our rating: 3/5
The rooms are spacious but are not maintained properly. The main issue is that staff is not available after midnight so that could be problematic. The location of the hotel is good, is at a walking distance from the market but the food quality spoils the overall experience.

Mt. Abu tour group

Rajasthan is not just about forts and deserts, it’s also about a lovely hill station, the only one there is, called Mount Abu. It is about 160 kms from Udaipur and took us two hours to reach . We began our sightseeing with Dilwara temple, the beautiful jain temples of Mt. Abu. This was followed by a visit to Guru Shikhar, the highest point of the Aravali ranges. The views of the valley are beyond serene. This is another great place to catch the sunset.

This was the end of our 4 day trip to Rajasthan and we caught the train back to Delhi by late evening.

We finally covered Rajasthan and how. The great palaces of Jaipur and Udaipur will keep calling us back and hopefully we will keep visiting these places again and again. I am very thankful that this trip turned out to be just perfect both in terms of the places we covered and its value for money. Kudos to TravelTriangle for organising it so smoothly. Cheers!

  • Chokhi dhani is a must visit for all
  • Dilwara temples are beautiful and one feels at peace there
  • The hotel in Udaipur is average and one can select other accommodation options in a similar budget

Rajasthan Travel Tips For Future Travelers:

  • Udaipur has a lot of places to visit. One can extend the stay at Udaipur and take a tour of Chittorgarh fort and Haldighati in the outskirts of Udaipur

Are you also planning an offbeat honeymoon to the Desert city of India? If yes, then make sure to take down some tips from Anuj’s romantic and unusual vacation and plan yours. Even you can book an amazing holiday to Rajasthan and enjoy the land of the royals with your beloved. Book now!
